No credit card. No “free for 7 days then we charge you.” No feature-gating where the free version is useless without upgrading. This is a real, usable set of tools at zero cost.

Trade-Built UX

The interface was clearly designed by people who understand field work. Material cost calculators help you price jobs accurately. Project templates save time on repeat job types. Client communication features are built for how contractors actually talk to customers - direct, practical, no fluff.

The mobile app is clean and functional on older phones. It won’t win design awards, but it gets the job done without frustrating you.

What Needs Work

Scalability

Works great for one-person operations but starts showing limitations with 3+ team members. Scheduling gets clunky when you need to coordinate multiple technicians. Multi-user permissions are limited. Reporting can’t handle the complexity of tracking performance across a team.

If you’re hiring your second or third technician, it’s probably time to graduate to Jobber or Housecall Pro.

Integrations

Fewer third-party integrations than the established players. QuickBooks sync exists but isn’t as refined as Jobber’s or Housecall Pro’s. If you rely on specialized accounting, payroll, or marketing tools, check compatibility before building your workflow around Contractor+.

Reporting

Reports cover the basics - revenue, job counts, outstanding invoices - but lack depth. You won’t get job profitability analysis, technician performance comparisons, or marketing ROI tracking. For a free tool, this is expected; just know the ceiling is low.
